Although we only stayed one night - it was enough to realise that The Country House Hotel is one of the best - if not the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The room lacked nothing, and could not be cleaner, the bed was very comfortable, the food was excellent, and the service and atmosphere very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We shall recommend you and will be back.

Thank you, Steve and Jenny, for making us feel so welcome and at home. The personal touch you added made our stay at The Country House Hotel like staying with friends. Our room was one of the best of many I have stayed in around the world. So comfortable. Thank you both and we look forward to staying again, next time we visit Kettering.

I am not normally one to leave comments in Guest Books. This time I feel that I must. I have been fortunate to have travelled all over the world on business staying in many and varied Hotels large and small. Then I find this gem of an Hotel here in England. For five months of each of my forty years as an international businessman, I lived in hotels in 52 countries. The Country House Hotel is outstanding! In terms of decor, furnishing, fittings, comfort, food and its situation in this quiet, delightful country setting is par exellence!Jenny & Steve are gems, their welcome and care is oustanding. I have written complaints to hotels around the world, so many I have lost count. Only two have I ever written about in this vein...the La Toc in St Lucia and the Country House Hotel. In my book,this small family hotel has a Four Star rating. Well done, Jenny and Steve, you deserve to be successful. With my very best wishes. Dennis

What a really lovely couple Jenny & Steve are and the welcome is second to none. Food is supurb and very reasonably priced. I had a ground floor single room the decor was very elegant and the bed was so very comfortable. Would recommend it to one and all. Thank you both so much for a home from home for the week. A fantastic hotel that I would recommend to anyone! From the moment i arrived i felt welcome. The decor is lovely. The rooms were brilliant, especially the bed! Breakfast was a great way to start the day, and dinner was excellent. Steve and Jenny run a fantastic hotel and i would like to thank them for their hospitality.

This is the best hotel you could want to stay at. When travelling alone, there is no better place to stay. It really is a home from home. 10 out of 10 for cleanliness, service, hospitality and personality! (something bigger hotels lack). I urge anyone travelling to the surrounding areas to stay here... you will not regret it.

Beryl and I enjoyed a very comfortable short stay and were admirably treated with excellent food and delightful accommodation.I have always understood that there is no place like home but now I know which comes a very close second best. If you do not believe me, we recommend you contact Jen or Steve and be greeted by perfect hosts.

What a wonderful stay. When travelling alone, it is always welcoming to meet such warmth and hospitality that you both showed, especially when travelling all the way from New York. All the comments on this page have the same theme and that is no coincidence, the personal touches you put on the stay to make it confortable really do make you feel like you home away from home! Thank you to you both. And Steve, keep up the painting, they are very good...your work is currently hanging on a wall in Dubai now!

Thanks again to Jenny & Steve for the first class hospitality supplied. This Hotel is more than a Hotel , it is a place you can look on as home from home. Their friendliness and attention to detail is something that more larger Hotels should try to emulate.

After moving away from the area for over 12 months, visiting was made so much more comfortable by jen and steve. We were made to feel so welcome and comfortable and will be staying again very soon because of the hospitality, it makes leaving the heat of spain that bit easier, and appreciate some home cooking, thank you see you soon lee, sam and connor x x x

The guest book convinced me to give this place a try so it seems only right to add a comment in the hope it gives others confidence in booking their stay here. Do it. You will thank me. Jenny and Steve could not be more helpful; the weather was good so dinner on the patio was a boon to the four of us; the rooms are tastefully decorated to a very high standard of finish and attention to detail is excellent.

I had to stay in this area for several courses. Steve and Jenny made it feel like a second home, but more beautiful than my own. Exquisitely decorated, spotless and with a beautiful garden with tables,chairs and a swing-seat to take tea and admire the fields beyond. Breakfast is "anything you want", dinner excellent and nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend this friendly country retreat to anyone.

A very pleasant suprise! My company booked the room and called me with the details...I was apprehensive with the idea I was staying in a B&B?? Nothing of the sort!! On arrival I was greeted and made to feel at home from the start. I travel all over the country and stay in many "so called" 4/5* hotels, I can happily say the Country House Hotel is one of the nicest hotels ive stayed in. A relaxing home from home with great views and rooms most people would aspire to in their own houses. I will be using it anytime im in the area and be will recommending it very highly to friends and family! Oh....the chicken curry is great! Dont waste your time in travel inns etc.....The Country House is in a different league. Thanks again Steve & Jenny. Ill be back!

Great location, only minutes off the A14 yet offers a rural, calm and peaceful setting. Great reception from Jenny and Steve,wonderful garden, sun lounge and very comfortable bedrooms. Definitely one for the address book!

Me and my boyfriend booked a romantic weekend away, we chose this hotel as it looked so perfect for what we wanted. All of the staff were so friendly and made us feel so special. We ate in the restaurant one night, it was all really nice, then the next night we went to the local pub and had a really good night. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it would be great to go back in the summer. 10/10!
